Save the Children marked World Refugee Day through activities held in a Child Friendly Space (a centre which runs activities for Syrian refugee and Lebanese children). Over a two week period a group of 25 children aged five to fourteen years took part in a creative workshop to create and deliver messages for World Refugee Day. The children particularly wanted to call on world leaders to redouble their efforts to bring about peace in Syria so they can return home. They also wanted to thank the Lebanese people for their generosity in providing them with a refuge from the conflict. The children wrote and produced a play, using puppets they also made themselves to help illustrate the impact of the war on their lives. They composed poems and set a poem they wrote together to music, which they also composed to mark World Refugee Day.

The activities were part of Save the Children Lebanon's objective to enable refugee children to become their own advocates and to provide them with the necessary skills in music, art, animation, film and other creative mediums to ensure their messages reach the widest possible audience.
